Christopher Green Sensei
Aikido instructor Chris Green has over 20 years of experience in the martial arts. He began his studies with Tae Kwon Do and expanded into Aikido and Ju-Jitsu, both of which he continues to practice.
He studied Aikido with the International Aikido Association under Bill Sosa Sensei, who was a student of Kobayashi Sensei, who in turn trained under Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido. There Chris trained with relentless effort, becoming one of the head students at the school. He would occasionally teach and often helped Sosa Sensei with seminars and demonstrations. After five years with the IAA, Chris began training with David Earnest Sensei in the arts of Ju-Jitsu and Aikido. There he spent years developing a system of Aikido that would blend the beauty of the art with the intensity of realistic street confrontations. Today, Chris continues to train and develop better ways to use Aikido as a self-defense system, and more importantly as a way of life.
Carol Lennox Sensei
Assistant instructor Carol Lennox, has trained in Aikido for over 15 years, and has studied the philosophy of Aikido for 20 years. She began her training with the International Aikido Association with Bill Sosa Sensei and continued her training in an independent Aikikai dojo for two years before joining Mizu Aikido.
After being introduced to Aikido in 1985 through seminars with Sensei Tom Crum, Carol developed and teaches a Conflict Resolution training for organizations and corporations that uses Aikido as a metaphor.
Frank Thomas Sensei
Assistant instructor Frank Thomas has trained in Aikido for over 11 years. He also began his studies with the late Bill Sosa Sensei of the International Aikido Association and continued his studies with Rick Sosa Sensei at IAA before finding a home with Mizu Aikido and Christopher Green Sensei, from whom he received his Shodan.
Frank coauthored an article with Bill Sosa Sensei on police Aikido in the late 1990s and applies Aikido to his teaching, international lecturing, writing, and self-development. A TCU professor and a licensed marital and family therapist, Frank is interested in the “loving martial art” as a guide for self-defense, psychotherapy, personal growth, and relationships.
Chris Hohmann
Assistant instructor Chris Hohmann began studying Tang Soo Do while in college, but in 1998 transitioned to Brazilian Ju-Jitsu (BJJ). In 2006 he began his training in Aikido under the instruction of Chris Green Sensei at Mizu Aikido. In 2009 he also began practicing Judo at the Fort Worth Judo Club. Recently, he competed in the 44th Annual Dallas Invitational Judo Championships and placed second in his weight class.
As a physical therapist he uses his knowledge of the human body to supplement his Aikido training and ground fighting philosophy. Likewise, he uses his knowledge of the martial arts in his physical therapy practice.
