Most
of the techniques, drills and even philosophy taught at Mizu Aikido
originate from its affiliate, Mizu Wa Ki Ju-Jitsu. This school
teaches a complete self-defense system that is oriented toward
realistic methods of surviving violent street encounters.
New
to self-defense training?
Is your primary goal to learn to protect yourself and those you
care for? Mizu Ju-Jitsu teaches effective, simple, and direct
methods of protecting yourself from realistic attacks and scenarios.
You
can improve your ability to handle the most common types of
violent street encounters.
You
will learn foundational material teaching you how to move, block,
escape from holds, and avoid violent opponents.
This
will be combined with simple but very effective counter offensive
techniques that will give you an advantage that you never thought
possible.
However,
what really will set your training apart from routine self defense
schemes is that this material will be tested and perfected in
a series of random format drills that will hone your ability
to respond to the unexpected and random nature of street fighting.
Already
have martial art training? Are
looking to expand your knowledge to other areas? We integrate
many methods and skills from other arts into our training, which
leads to a more complete self-defense arsenal.
Aikido
students will recognize the emphasis on center, extension, and
leads as well as many of the locks and projections.
Judo
students will see many familiar body throws as well as ground
working techniques.
Karate
or Tae Kwon Do students will see familiar distance fighting
techniques in the form of punching, kicking, and blocking.
Wing
Chun stylists will see many techniques and concepts from that
art woven into the tapestry of the inside fighting philosophy.
Concepts, such as angling and center line control, will be easily
recognized.
Escrima
or Kali students will find a familiar methodology to incorporating
weapon defense and use into the empty hand framework.
All
would be further enlightened by aspects from the other arts
listed above as well as other elements such as nerves and pressure
points, escape arts, mobility training, ground fighting, and
a training methodology that allows the student to integrate
all of these elements into one whole concept.
